Introduction

This is a high level map building competition for Minecraft maps.

By summer 2022, we plan to open a server named the Valley of Saga which depicts places for the storytelling of fair tales and folk tales from our common European heritage; including nordic, germanic, slavic origins and many minority cultures from all over Europe.

Schedule

The challenge starts on April 1st and ends on September 4th of 2022.

Background

Originally, this project was planned to be called the Afanasyev Cycle, and focused on the shared and overlapping narratives of Russian and German fairy tales.

The high risk of loosing large part of the Ukranian cultural and natural heritage due to the ongoing conflicts we have decided to start by focusing uniquely on the Ukranian heritage, and especially locations, present in the Ukraine.

Further, we have opened the the conceptual approach to indigenouse Russian narratives, such as the Mari-El.

The western boundary is the Atlantic Ocean, which accounts for 50 countries.
